I had a hida scan without cck and it came back normal, but i am having severe gallbladder pain. would the cck have detected something else?

Maybe: HIDA without CCK looks for bile duct or for gallbladder blockage. Do you have gallstones on ultrasound? If you do have gallstones, then CCK testing may not be needed. Testing with CCK is used to identify how well the gallbladder is emptying. The CCK injection can be replaced by the radiologist having you drink fatty high calorie drink instead (like Ensure).

Yes, CCK: is used to contract the GB and calculate the ejection fraction. An abnormally low gallbladder ejection fraction could indicate functional gallbladder disorder/dyskinesia. The symptoms of this could mimic biliary colic.
