I had a hida scan done today, didn't feel any pain with the cck injection. does that mean my gallbladder is probably fine?

Not necessarily: Though some people with gallbladder abnormalities do feel pain upon cck injection, it is not 100%. This is just one of many pieces of information gained from the hida scan, and in isolation does not necessarily indicate a normal gallbladder. Also, studies show some people with normal hida scans still benefit from having the gallbladder out (if considered a good candidate by a qualified surgeon).

No: You shouldn't feel pain if cck is administer over 60 minutes. The objective measurement of your gallbladder function is the ejection fraction (ef). This together w images and clinical scenario will determine if your gb is fine or not. Usually an ef of over 35-37% is thought to be normal.

No: You need to find out what the complete report says. There is more involved in a hida scan than cck injection. Need ejection fraction, uptake time, presence or absence of bowel uptake etc.
