YES.: An ultrasound, while an excellent screening test for gallbladder problems, reveals only the anatomy of the gall bladder. If the gallbladder isn't functioning properly, it could cause the pain you describe. Keep in mind that something else besides your gall bladder could be causing your pain. Discuss this with your doctor.
