A member asked:

Purpose of insulin in relation to the principles of protein structure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Please clarify: Hi. Protein structure depends on salts, pH, presence or absence of amphipathic structures (membranes), presence or absence of other proteins, etc. Protein structure is not influenced by insulin per se. In the organism, insulin is anabolic and fosters protein synthesis, but the structure of the protein is not within the purview of insulin action. So I'm not really sure what you're trying to ask.
