A member asked:

How can eating carbohydrate build muscle or insulin increases protein synthesis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Everything: You eat is broken down into small building blocks and metabolized into calories of energy. Your body then uses this energy to generate proteins, fats, carbohydrates or whatever else it needs to manufacture. Insulin is an anabolic hormone which does stimulate protein synthesis, but increasing your Insulin levels does not lead to muscle building.
