Need to know more: How much is "a lot"? If you feel faint, due to blood loss, do go to the emergency room immediately. If you do not feel ill in any way, you may wait to see your regular doctor. If you do not have a doctor, then, please do go to the emergency room.

Hemorrhoid common.: Without a hemorrhoid, yes. Usually bright red blood is from the rectum or anus. It is probably a hemorrhoid and needs anoscopy to see it. Amount of bleeding in toilet is diff to judge.
