How long for?: How long has this been going on? Has he just got gastroenteritis / a stomach bug? If it has been going on for more than 5 days, or he is feeling faint, he should see a doctor

See doctor: Bleeding from anywhere is a serious issue and warrants examination and evaluation by a doctor. The patient should see a doctor. It may be just hemorrhoids, but bleeding from even hemorrhoids can cause anemia.
