Not normal: Blood in the stool is not normal and needs to be explained. Causes can range from local irritation, anal fissure ( crack in the tissue), hemorrhoid, polyp, colitis, to cancer. You will need to see a health care provider to get a diagnosis.

Constipation?: Are you having constipation meaning hard stools? This is the most common reason for rectal bleeding at your age. This can cause hemorrhoids or small tears in your rectal/anal area which cause the bleeding. Eating fruits and vegetables and plenty of water should help. You may also use an over the counter stool softener. If symptoms persist see your doctor for an exam.
