My dentist put a packet in my mouth when i went to him for dry socket this morning. is the packet supposed to come out? if so, how?

Paste or dressing: If the dentist put a special paste to promote healing it does not need to be removed.If a medicated dressing was placed it has to be changed daily.Check with your dentist.I am surprised you were not told what your next move will be???Hope this helps.

Dry Socket: Nowadays, the type of packing used is resorbable and does not need to be removed. If it is not resorbable, leaving it in can lead to an infection. Ask your dental professional at your next visit. I'm sure they wouldn't mind addressing any questions or concerns you may have.

Dry socket: Talk to your dentist about this. Usually the dressing needs to be hanged every day or two. The extracting dentist will take are of this for you.
