POSSIBLE: Yes, it is possible--although less common--to have a dry socket where you have already received dry-socket care. It happens when the bone gets exposed by losing the clotted blood, which works as a natures Band-Aid. Fortunately, the gum continues to grow over the socket, eventually closing it and protecting the bone again. Until then, you may need additional care and more time. Call your dentist.

Dry socket: If medicated gauze is lost, and bone becomes exposed, symptoms may return. If treatment remains in place you should be feeling better every day. Stay in contact with your treating General Dentist or Oral Surgeon to monitor your progress.
