It is not OK: Ibuprofen will not cure Joint Dysfunction, only block the signal that your body is sending to your brain telling you that something's wrong. See your Dentist to have the cause of your Dysfunction diagnosed, then fix the cause.

Depends: Depends on how bad the problem is. If your symptoms are completely relieved by the ibuprofen, perhaps. You may want to get expert advice by a TMJ specialist. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask your MD, your dentist and your dental society for referrals.
