Aleve (naproxen): 250-500 mg bid; maximum is 1025-1375 mg/day is a better choice for TMJ inflammation an temporary pain control. However, without proper diagnosis it's just a guessing game. See orofacial pain specialist (board certified) for your sleep problems and TMJ problem They are the expert in this field.

TMJ Expert: Yes. But also see a TMJ specialist for your "very bad TMJ". Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask your MD, your dentist and your dental society for referrals.
