A member asked:

If my surgeon removes my hernia mesh how likely is it he can remove it all? i got in in january. body is rejecting it.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Technically, you're body is not rejecting the mesh, because there are no proteins on it to reject. There is an inflammatory response to the foreign body, and this is a normal response, but in your case may be excessive. If pain is the reason for removal, it may or may not be successful. Ability to remove the entire mesh depends on location and technique of repair.
