Tonsilitis: Cancer in this area at your age is extremely rare and unusual, particularly if this is an acute illness. More than likely this infection, if responding to antibiotics at all, is curing the infection, but the inflammatory process takes a longer time to recede. Hope you are better soon. Cancer would not be likely.
