Nerve Damage: You have damage to some of the nerves from your neck that go down to your hand and arm on the right side. It can be from injury or other degenerative changes to the bones of the neck. May be helped by some intervention.

Explanation: Muscles in your arm are innervated by varying nerves exiting the neck. C-5, for example affects deltoid, supra scapular, C-6 more biceps and brachioradialis. The EMG likely revealed specific problems in these locations, and may reflect a problem within your neck due to a mechanical compression of exiting nerve roots at these levels.

Old nerve damage: The EMG, where a needle is inserted into muscle tells the doctor how healthy the muscles are and if they are getting enough nerve signal. If there is early nerve damage then the muscle at rest will make noises, while if the damage is chronic then the muscle will be quiet at rest.
