I had an mri done of my cervical spine. if there is compression of the nerves that exit out between the c5-c6 cervical spine can that effect the tricep muscles or cause denervation of the tricep muscles?

Innervation of triceps muscle is mainly C7, with minimal input of C6 and C8 in some folks. Your described problem is at the wrong level. Perhaps an EMG could clarify.
