I had a complete pelvic ultrasound yesterday... the tech asked me if i had a tampon in. i didn't. what would look like a tampon on an ultrasound?

Was it: transvaginal or transabdominal ? If the former, possibly some difficulty inserting the probe. If the latter, possibly air in the vagina. Or, it could simply be a standard question.
