Hard work.: Good genes is a good start but most people need to work at it. Low fat, high protein diet would be good and make sure you burn more calories than you eat. Lots of sit ups and other light weight high repetition training is best to get slim and tone your muscles. Keep in mind you will get a lot of different opinions on how to achieve your goals.
