Depends: If you have no history of blood clots in your lungs, are not short of breath, and it's affecting your lower leg, it's generally safe.

Not safe.: No, there is a risk of pulmonary embolism which can be fatal. Better seek help now if you have warmth, swelling pain of a lower leg.

DVT: The presence of blood clots in your legs or arms is a LIFE THREATENING MEDICAL EMERGENCY. Blood clots can travel through the heart to the lungs where they can get stuck and cause bleeding into the lungs, decreasing oxygen to the heart which can cause death. If you think you have a blood clot go to the Emergency Room and and get this condition checked out ASAP.
