How long after?: Depends on how long ago the surgery was. If it was less than a week. Normal. If longer than a week, may not be normal. If not sure, call dentist for advice.

Not uncommon: The pain is noticed immediately after the anesthesia wears off and continues up to 72 hours. Take NSAID OTC or Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain control. If concerned, see your dentist for post-op examination.
