Now, but...: For the meantime, avoid hard, sharp, and crunchy foods. Follow the oral and\or written instructions of your dentist. He\she can tell you when you can resume a completely normal regimen after seeing you for a post op visit.

I am having my wisdom teeth removed and am wondering when i can eat hot foods?

Usually 24 hours: This depends upon how 'hot' you like your food. You can definitely warm up your food but don't eat it steaming hot. Two reasons: 1) you may still be numb and burn your gums 2) the hot food (especially liquids) can dissolve the blood clot and make you start to bleed again. Don't 'slurp' or 'suck' through a straw for 24 hours as this may dislodge your blood clot and cause a dry socket.
