For the most part.: In general, nuts and seeds tend to be healthier than processed, fat and sugar- laden snacks such as chips or candy. Having said that, nuts and seeds do contain natural fats and do contain calories, so if used in excess, they can contribute to obesity and/or cardiovascular disease, although probably less than the snacks mentioned above. I do recommend them, but use them in moderation!

Yes: but like everything else, they should be consumed in moderation. I think a total of 30 nuts per day would work out fine.
