Constipated baby: Introduction of new formulas or foods can result in constipation. Once hard stool is formed, treatment often involves clearing the present stool with a pediatric glycerin suppository or Fleets enema. Prevention involves increasing free water or juice intake, or using prescription stool softeners such as lactulose.
