Constipation: Increasing the amount if water you drink as well as the amount of fiber you eat. Fiber can be obtained in fruits and vegetables with skins in them and whole grains.

Yes: Fiber should help. Other things to try are prunes. I would also encourage trying to establish a morning bowel routine after eating breakfast and having something to drink (coffee works well). Look into MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) as it is a nn-absorbable salt based product that makes it easier to go(not a systemic medication).
