If fever goes again: to 100 or above call the doctor who did the colonoscopy.

Not expected: did he have any interventions done? sometimes with a polypectomy or biopsies there can be some focal inflammation (serositis). the fever could also be a marker of something a lot more serious like a perforation though. keep a close eye on him, and I'd give the gastroenterologist the heads-up sooner rather than later.
