A member asked:

My grandma is 76 and is having fevers of unknown origin for 2 months now. she had an endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasounds, cbc came out normal.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Get a second opinion: Fever of unknown origin is often caused by infections, inflammatory conditions or advanced cancers. The tests that she has had all have some limitations in locating hidden infections or cancer. A pet scan may be the best test to use especially to find many of the hidden conditions that cause fever. An experienced doctor(second opinion by an internist) may be able to offer her further medical guida.
