ESR and CRP: Erythrocyte sedimentation rate, ESR or Sed rate and C-reactive protein are general markers of inflammation. If both are elevated, either one can be used for follow-up to assess the effects of treatment.

Ask you doctor to measure ALT and AST - these tests are very sensitive to liver inflammation. There is no parallel test for your kidney.
