Maybe maybe not: Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is an antibiotic used to treat usually urine infections or skin infections. While it may be used to treat a cough/sore throat, it is probably not the best option. Best to see your doctor to see if there is something else he or she would suggest instead. Feel better!
