No cancer risk: Hemorrhoids and cancer can both cause blood in stool. May occur in same person; not causally related. Best to treat hemorrhoids well (keep stool soft, shrink swollen tissue, avoid straining and sitting a long time). Bleeding may be only sign of hidden bowel disease, such as colitis or cancer. Suggest you check with doctor now to be safe. But cancer is not inevitable.

Won't cause cancer: Other than the discomfort of itching, sometimes pain, and bleeding--your external hemorrhoids will prob stay about the same. Two of the most common causes of hemorrhoids are constipation-this may cause straining to have BM's. Or activity that will cause compression could also be a cause--i.e.--sitting on the toilet stool and reading. You might try high fiber diet. If changes, then need MD apt.
