Yes: Yes, if you had a severe ankle sprain that it was bad enough to put in a cast, it may take even several weeks to fully resolve. Sometimes, swelling can worsen with an ankle injury before it gets better. Make sure you are keeping it elevated. If the cast feels tight, you may need to be evaluated. Sometimes we have to split or change a cast if the seelling gets severe,
