Varicocele: It is estimated that 15% of men have a varicocele that appears during puberty. Evaluation of male factor infertility identifies varicocele a in about 40 %. Obviously, 15% of men are not infertile! but some subset develops problems. Evaluation is needed if testicular atrophy of left testis occurs, if semen analyses have several parameters off, and sometimes when a man waits to have children later
