A member asked:

I would like help with diagnosis of possible african tick bite fever or other tick borne rickettsial disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tick bite: If you have the tick, it can be sent to a lab to test for any disease it might carry. If not just monitor for 20-30 days for any flu-like symptoms or rash at the site where you found the tick. If test is positive or you have symptoms or rash, you should be treated.
