It is possible: depending on severity of the tear and which rotator cuff muscles /tendon is torn and how active you are , however the rehab time may be quite lengthy, need a discussion with your orthopedists

Depends: on the size/extent of the tear. most small ones, no. BUT, you WILL need to keep it active when it is possible and a gradual PHYSICIAN GUIDED course of range of motion / physical therapy is always recommended with a shoulder injury. Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health and these tears vary a LOT
