May be precancerous: Bumps on the knee are usually benign. They can represent skin hemangiomas, fibromas or early transforming lesions like dermatofibrosarcoma in the earliest stages of development. One thing should be considered is early desmoplastic melanoma which can look like red nodule. If lesions grown biopsy essential.

Get it checked,,,: It's highly unlikely that this would be cancerous, however, it's a good idea to get this checked out as it could be a wart or some other skin lesion that if left untreated, may become difficult to remove. So see your doctor/dermatologist to get it examined and tested to find out. Good luck.

Be seen: Be seen and put your mind at ease. In the meantime, do not try to scratch or manipulate the area. Hope everything is okay. This might even be something as simple as a wart.

PCP exam vs. fear: A lesion, "pink/red bump" that is new and on any part of the body and which is present for "months" should be investigated for an associated cause. A visit to your primary care provider for an examination and diagnosis is your best treatment and would likely calm your fears. A biopsy, radiographs or time might be the best medicine. Reassurance from a professional is more likely than cancer.
