Esophageal spasm: some people have involuntary spasm of the upper esophagus related to hot or cold foods, occasionally related to rapid swallowing. I suggest continuing your current meds.

Can GERD cause choking sensations? I deal with a tight throat sensation, food stuck in throat feeling and also struggle with health anxiety that would sometimes make me gag when my throat feels so tight from stress?
