Contact podiatrist: I'd get in touch with your podiatrist and see about getting some new temporaries. Hopefully the new permanent ones will have a better fit than the temporaries, but if not, just have your podiatrist make some adjustments or make new ones.

Temporary orthotics?: It is probably an accommodative device and not a functional one. They are too big for the shoe you are using. Like tape, the rule of the thumb is if it's not comfortable, it's useless.
