Digital nerve: This could be the onset of neuropathy, but more likely, compression of the nerves on the sides of the toes causes this. If it is tight inside the tip of your shoes, the answer is compression.

I wear 1/2 (short) orthotics and have removed the liner of the shoes so one half of the shoe has orthotic and the other has a hard surface. Is it ok? Is it bad for knees, etc? Should I use toe pads?
