Count calories: It dos not matter what the content of the food is. Weight loss depends on cutting calories. If you eat less calories than you use a day, you will lose weight (no matter what those calories are made of. A lower fat, lower protein diet means you will be able to eat more for less calories, since both proteins & fats are more calorically dense. The Mediterranean-type diet or Dean Ornish's are good
