Would an iud device get rid of my periods?

Depends: If it is a Mirena (levonorgestrel) it likely would. A paraguard would not.

Perhaps: Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUDs are fantastic options for people that have issues with their menstrual periods. While some people may continue to have periods (which are usually shorter and lighter), the majority of women will not have periods, which is a great benefits. Copper IUDs do not offer this benefits, and women with these may have heavier more painful cycles.
