A fairly simple procedure.: You are sedated first with some anesthesia. The cervix is dilated so that an instrument will fit inside the uterus. Then a instrument called a curette is introduced into the body of the uterus and carefully scrapes the inside lining. This is normally a pretty straightforward outpatient procedure however you could have complications such as bleeding or perforation of the uterus.
