A member asked:

Why do i get a sharp shooting pain on my left pinky randomly? (no force or work. just chilling and it happens) been happening for yrs, randomly :(

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ulnar nerve: This might be the answer: The pinky is supplied by the ulnar nerve, which has to pass through a narrow region in the inner elbow. When there is irritation or narrowing here, people may have pain or tingling or numbness in their pinky finger. Sometimes this occurs more often when leaning bent elbows on a table.
