AML Relapse: First of all, congratulations on being disease free for 3 years! Remission means just that. Unfortunately, remission is not synonymous with cure. It used to be that 5 years of remission=cure. Now,10 years or in some cases more = cure. Keep following your doctor's directions, live a healthy lifestyle, and seek medical care at the earliest sign that you might be having a relapse. One day at a time
