Fissure or hemorrhoi: A rectal fissure is a tear in one of the folds that closes the rectum. With bowel movement, it unfolds and bleeds. A hemorrhoid is a vein that hangs out of the rectum. It may also bleed with opening for bowel movement. An exam will tell the difference. Both need rx meds to fix.
