A member asked:

What could make your bottom bleed when you use the bathroom and your stools are soft not hard? the blood is not in my stool.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fissure or hemorrhoi: A rectal fissure is a tear in one of the folds that closes the rectum. With bowel movement, it unfolds and bleeds. A hemorrhoid is a vein that hangs out of the rectum. It may also bleed with opening for bowel movement. An exam will tell the difference. Both need rx meds to fix.
