Exercise and roids: The first ray(metatarsal) is elevated in chronic turf toe. Low-dye to depress the first ray helps . Ice it down at least 200 times a day. Stretch the top of the foot for thirty seconds every other day. Pick up marbles with your toes and put them in a cup. A short course of oral steroids is helpful.

Chronic: Turf toe can be unrelenting and chronic. It has ended the careers of many athletes. Antiinflammatories, injections, shoe modification, and surgery may be of help.
