My diuretic blood pressure medication makes me lose memory, cause weakness and headache, why does this happens?

Diuretic side effect: HCTZ can cause sodium depletion, potassium depletion, relative water imbalances, and bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate) retention. These changes can cause your symptoms. Blood work is needed. Is yourBP still high or does drop too low?

Dehydration: Hydrochlorothiazide is a loop diuretic, which exeresis effect on the distal renal tubular, prevents resorption of water, along with potassium depletion. Signs and symptoms of dehydration, or volume depletion, can manifest with memory disturbance, weakness, headaches, orthostatic hypotension, muscle cramps. Consult your physician if the symptom persists.

Diuretics: Diuretics may be causing dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. You should be monitored by having periodic blood work. See your doctor for a blood pressure check and blood work. Good luck!
