Maybe allergy: Hives could be a sign of allergic reaction or could be due to other allergies or urticaria - the pins and needles could be neurologic in nature or from other causes. If this continues consult a doctor for evaluation and testing. Good luck!

May not be allergy: Hives occur more frequently at night than during daytime. You don't mention how long you have had the problem. If less than 4 weeks, it may be allergy. If longer, odds are against it. To be safe, also check for bed bugs. You can take an OTC antihistamine, such as diphenhydramine, cetirizine or fexofenadine at night for a week. If this solves the problem, so good. If not, see a physician.
