A member asked:

Ive had a very serious allergic reaction (angioedema) to fluconazole, and now ive broken out in hives after two different trials of omeprazole. are these two azole drugs related in any way? should i watch out for other azole drugs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fluconazole and omeprazole are two different classes of drugs. They are not related chemically at all. Based on your account you seem to have a possible reaction to omeprazole. You can see your primary care doctor, I am not sure if you can wait to do that, I don't have enough details. You can triage your concerns with telemedicine.
