Maybe: Although Fluconazole is most effective against candida (yeast) it does hit other fungi. It is an azole antifungal dont forget. So it depends on what organism is causing the athletes foot. The most common is tricophyton species. There are better drugs like Lamisil (terbinafine) topical and oral.
