Nerve problems: Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health and, certainly when there seems to be progressive SERIOUS nerve damage, surgery would generally be recommended. Loss of strength is not one of the early signs (loss of dexterity/dropping things is an early sign).
