Vit D: Taking vitamin D once weekly at a dose of 10,,000 units per week is safe and effective. It may be toxic if you mistakenly take 10,000 units daily. Be careful! Vit D at a dose of 1000 units daily is also safe and effective. That dose might be slightly less effective than 10,000 units once a week. Vit D data say 2000-4000 u per day or 10,000-20,000 per week is optimal.

With you....: living in a sunny climate, it probably isn't all that important. You might want to get a level before starting. daily is prob. better than a large amount weekly. Possibly more gets in, and you certainly won't have ups and downs. Vitamin D overdose causes too hi calcium. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/717460_5 the doses mentioned are probably safe, but unnecessary.
